MAG MCSA has a goal.

We want to gather suitable visual images for official MAG MCSA purposes.

Would you like to contribute towards this goal of creating MAG MCSA’s visual repository?

The images will be used for a variety of purposes, such as, but not limited to, stock photography for the website and other published content, as data for possible future conservation/research needs and as an historic archive of MAG-related ventures.

For this historic archive we are especially interested in older photos that are in your possession but that can get lost or inaccessible in future.

To this end, you are invited to submit your BEST PICS that fit within any of the following categories:

  • Scenic images of MAG properties
  • Gear-related images (e.g. for activities like rock climbing, hiking, kloofing)
  • Fauna
  • Flora
  • People (We’re especially interested in a diverse demographic representation – age, ethnicity, gender)
  • Action shots
  • MAG functions/events
  • Conservation efforts
  • Misc/Other (Please be selective here! We’re not looking for multiple pics of the same shoelace from 10 different angles. But if you have that SPECIAL image you want to share, and it doesn’t fit into one of these categories, we’d love to see it.)

The Nuts and Bolts

1. Prepare your images!

Maybe you’ve got them neatly organised or maybe they’re in a mess dumped in a folder titled “Photos”. Which are your BEST PICS that fit into these categories?

  • Identify them
  • Ensure their size is at least 2048 pixels on the longest edge. Most cell phone photos will be OK.
  • Save them in this format:
    firstname_date taken_location.
    For example Smith.Melina_2019.05.01_Wilgepoort
  • If necessary, obtain written consent from people that are captured in the image.

    See THIS LINK for consent specifically regarding children under the age of 18 which must be completed by their parents/guardians.

2. Submit your images!

Please mail your images directly to media@mag.mcsa.org.za

If using WeTransfer or a similar service, please mail the download link to media@mag.mcsa.org.za

Note: By submitting your images, you are

  1. consenting to MAG MCSA using them for official MAG purposes.
  2. confirming that the images were taken by you.
  3. confirming you have written consent from people visible in the images.
