HIKING & MOUNTAINEERING
Whether you are an experienced mountaineer or just starting out and in need of guidance, the clubβs vast experience offers the opportunity to experience and share hiking and mountaineering with like-minded individuals who has a love for adventure and an appreciation of nature. The club offers its members access to a wide variety of breathtaking areas, well off the beaten track. We organize official hiking, canyoning, climbing events almost every weekend of the year.

CLIMBING
Bouldering, Sport- and Trad Climbing. There are enthusiastic groups of rock climbers in Pretoria, Polokwane and Mpumalanga. Rock climbing happens almost every weekend and beginners are welcome. Motivated beginners are welcome to join us to experience climbing and learn to climb safely by apprenticeship. We regularly offer introduction days to sport climbing & trad climbing.

CONSERVATION
The club have various initiatives and support actions towards protecting the natural beauty and wilderness character of mountains and to promote their effective conservation management. We arrange frequent conservation meets in the Magaliesberg.

SOCIAL EVENINGS
We have regular social evenings featuring interesting speakers presenting talks on various topics. Join us every second Tuesday night at the club house.

MOUNTAIN RESCUE
All sections of the MCSA contribute towards the search and rescue team. In the event of a mountain emergency, you can contact them. If you think you have the stamina, patience, skills and mental fortitude to search for people in the middle of night please join them.

YOUTH MEETS
The club regularly arranges family outings for adults with children. Almost all of our properties are child friendly, however children must be accompanied by an adult. We also enjoy taking the kids and their parents for introduction climbs at the various climbing gyms and on real rock.

EXPEDITIONS
The MCSA has an expedition fund, part of which is made available to a deserving party or expedition. At times, under the auspices of the MCSA, expeditions are organised by members of the Club to various remote and often unexplored areas.
